Darling, Nothing Compares To You

Let go of whatever and whoever hurt you. Choose to heal, choose to recover, choose happiness. You are NOT defined by the failures of your past, the people that hurt you, or the mistakes that you’ve made. You are not defined by the missed opportunities that you gave up because you were anxiously waiting for something better to arrive, that never did. You are not defined by your imperfections, insecurities, and inadequacies; they are what make you who you are, and darling, nothing compares to you.

You are more than just the continuously contemptuous demons inside your head screaming for a way out; you are more than just the insolent internal hurricanes of your self-collapsing mind and the emptiness inside your tender soul ceaselessly craving for something “more”.

You ARE allowed to feel lost, broken, and apprehensive. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to feel sad and not understand why, but you do not have to sit with your damage and make a home out of it.

Do not forget the person that you were, as it is because of those inconspicuous versions of yourself that you have grown into the resilient, daring warrior that you are today. Remember the things that once made you crave so deeply for the briefest taste, yet stung with irremediable sharp pain when you got too close.

Remember your young, naïve heart and how it felt to dive head first into the waters of the unknown to love so deeply and live so avidly without limitations. Remember each and every version of yourself that you used to be and remind yourself that without all of your faults, setbacks, and failures, you’d never be half the person that you are today.

Your past does not define your future, your scars do not determine your worth, your failures do not border your undying potential—they make you dauntless and undeniably sagacious.

You are not a tormenting weed amongst perpetual beauty, you are a winter wildflower waiting patiently to blossom when the sun reaches your roots and proclaims your time to flourish. Eclipse your hindrances, unshackle the chains of your reservations, and set free your fearlessness.

Be you—unfiltered, raw, and vulnerable.

10 Bad Habits That Are Secretly Stopping You From Being Successful

1. Overthinking

Be very careful of your tendency to be consumed by your most irrational thoughts, as these can hold you back from your goals. You may not always control your thoughts, but you do control what you choose to do with it. Overthinking destroys your peace and ruins your focus completely, so you need to try your best to overcome this destructive habit. Otherwise, you may lose many opportunities along the way because of fear or insecurity.

2. Trying to “fix” people

Whether you’re an empath or you’re just a natural optimist, you can’t change people. Ever. Whether it’s your significant other, your best friend, or whoever they are, it’s not your responsibility to make them into better people. Frankly, if they refuse to get their lives together and take responsibility in building a successful life, that isn’t your fault. You can inspire them, but you can’t be responsible for making them get their ass up and turn their lives around.

3. Allowing distractions

Distractions take the form of a lot of things, whether that’s Netflix, social media, video games, or something else entirely. Be cautious with the distractions you surround yourself with as you can be caught up with these and forget your goals completely. If you truly want to reach success, you won’t let distractions stand in your way.

4. Trying to please everyone

At the end of the day, you really can’t please everyone, and trying to do so will hold you back from achieving success. If you want to pursue your goals, you can’t be worried about what everyone else is thinking. This is your life, and nobody else has a say in the matter but you.

5. Being complacent with your life

Life was never meant to be lived within your comfort zone, and you need to learn to be more passionate and enthusiastic in living your life. Stop being so accepting. If there’s something in your life you don’t like, you can always do something about it. Get up and start working for the life you aspire for, no matter how frustrating it gets.

6. Not setting enough boundaries

Boundaries are important, even in achieving success. If you don’t set enough boundaries, people will take advantage of you and use you until you’re empty and void. Learn when to say no and when to say yes accordingly. Doing so will change your life.

7. A lack of mental strength

Your mind is a powerful tool, and when you use that to your advantage, it can be the key to your own success. By learning mental strength, you learn to manage and control your own emotions. Life isn’t always easy. Most times, it gives you more struggle than bliss. When you have the mental strength, you won’t let your emotions get the best of you in any situation.

8. Dwelling on the past

No matter how much pain you’ve handled in the past, you need to let that all go. You can’t have a future filled with success if you can’t stop looking back. No matter how much you dwell on your past mistakes, you can never go back and change it. What’s done is done, and you can only choose to move forward.

9. A lack of self-control

Self control has to do with a lot of things attributing to your success. Whether that’s in how you manage your time effectively, how you implement the right habits, or how you actively pursue your goals, self-control has everything to do with these. If you don’t learn self-control as early as you can, this can hold you back from your goals.

10. Doubting your own capabilities

You have got to stop underestimating yourself and focus on your strengths even more. Everyone has flaws and weaknesses, but you can’t dwell on those. Instead, focus on the best assets of yourself and how you can use those to accomplish your goals.
